The text for the week is among the popular stories in the Bible. The NIV version has the title " Jesus calms the storm". I decided to focus on the verse where the disciples went and woke Jesus, saying, "Lord, save us! we're going to drown!".
Although Christ complained of the lack of faith exhibited by the disciples, but the major lesson I want us to learn from the text is that we should always involve Christ in matters of our life that we can not handle.
The lessons to learn from the text include the following:
1. We should not hestitate to tell God our challenges. He is always ready to help us. 1 king 8v45; Ps 42v8; Ac 12v5; Ja. 5v15.
2. " You of little faith, why are you so afraid?". Faith is a vital instrument in the life of a christain. Matt. 17v20; Lk 17v6; Ro 10v8.
3. The power and authority of Jesus Christ has no limit.
4. The challenges (storm) of our life has an expiry date.
5. It is expected that we maintain a full loyalty to God. We should avoid "double dating"
6. Most challenges are meant to train our faith.
