"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit". Matthew 6v43-44(a).

It is with this message of Christ I welcome you to this episode of my sermon on Celestial Church Blog. The text for the sermon is Luke 6v37-45. Our topic for today is "Hypocrisy".

In this generation of ours, hypocrisy is one of the major issues confronting Christendom. So it was in the early days of the Church. The rate at which people (Christians) condemn others, even when they are guilty of the same is on the high side.

Hypocrisy is the practice of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case. It also refers to the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations.

Lets observe some features of hypocrites.
1. They condemn others for sin; yet ignore their own sins. Matthew. 7v3-5; Luke 6v41-42.
2. They consider religious practices (and animals) to be more important than people. Luke 13v14-16.
3. They carefully obey the tiniest matters of the law (old Testament regulations), and neglect the important things. Matthew. 23v23-24.
4. They are willing to ignore the truth, in order to impress people. Gal. 2v11-14.
5. They focus on what people can see, and ignore the true condition of their own hearts. Matt. 23v25-28.

Don't be an hypocrite.

Yours in the hope of his second coming.
