Halleluyah!!! Calvary greetings to you all in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May the grace of Jehovah be sufficient for us always.

The scriptural reading for the sermon is Gen. 13 :1-18. The topic is "............. for we are brothers ". Gen. 13:8.

Brethren, while I was reading through the text, I came in contact with this statement of Abram to Lot his nephew "for we are brothers" and I decided to build the sermon on it.

The maturity exhibited by Abram is worthy of note. My dear readers, I present the following points and lessons from the negotiated separation of Abram and Lot.

1. The first point to note is that quarrel between brothers (brethren) is normal i. e. not a taboo.

2. When we notice quarrel among our brethren, we should address it in time.

3. The major, like Abram in the text has a major role to play at resolving the matter. They take charge.

4. Quarrels are meant to be negotiated for peaceful resolution.

5. Physical and partial separation has proven to be a great measure of conflict resolution. However, it has to be moderate. Open up the communication between them very soon so that the bond and intimacy is not weakened.

6. For peace to be established, members quarreling should be willing to "Sacrifice". Abram allowed Lot to pick first and he (Lot) choose the best of the land.(Maturing and "Sacrifice ").

7. Settled quarrels are real for brothers/brethren. Abram proved this when he pleaded with the angels not to destroy Lot when (they) the angels visited Sodom and Gomorrah for destruction. Gen.18: 16.

8. It is expected that quarrels among brothers will reduced to "nothing" (no more quarrel) after getting very familiar with each other temperaments and emotions.

Till I come your way next week, remain blessed in the Lord always.
