Alleuia!!!
Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The text for the sermon this week is Jeremiah 11:6-17. The topic is "Iniquities of the forefathers"

Brethren in the Lord, after reading through the verses in the scriptural reading for the week sermon. I got to realize that each verse has a unique topic. The Lord addressed His people through prophet Jeremiah. Sincerely things has not really changed for good concerning the relationship between God and man. Naturally and Biblically, one would have expected a cordial relationship between God and man after God sent His only begotten son (Jesus Christ) to the world for the purpose of redemption and reconciliation.

I wish an individual can put him /her self in the position of God temporarily and feel the unfaithfulness of man. In one of my recent sermon, I emphasized how we celebrate and observe regular and annual Christian programs without thorough application of the Biblical teachings. One major thing Jehovah emphasized is the iniquities and unfaithfulness of man from generation to generation.

The question now is which generation is more unfaithful to God? It is most unfortunate in our own case because the intention of God for Jesus Christ first coming was/is to perfectly reconcile man to God and establish a good relationship with Him.

My dear readers, it is good we note the following lessons in the text read.
1. The Lord always proclaim the words of His covenant from generation to generation, meaning ignorance will not be an excuse. Jer. 11:6.
2. The Lord expect always that man should obey His words. Jer. 11:7.
3. There are consequences to the evil imaginations in the heart of man. Jer. 11:8,11,12.
4. Man has turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers. Jer. 11 :10.
5. Man worship gods in their numbers, even altars to burn incense unto Baal. Jer. 11:13.
6. The Lord declared that there is no point praying for the unrepentant sinners because such prayers He would not answered. Isaiah 59:1-4; Jer. 11:14.
7. The worship of idol in any form or capacity is biblically considered a deliberate act at provoking God to anger. Jer. 11:17.

I sincerely supplicate the Lord that the death of Jesus Christ for our sins will not go in vain. Shalom.
