Silent prayers are integral aspect of any service in this fold, but the actions of the service conductor and that of the sidesmen (onigbode) are often inimical in making the prayers efficient.

This assertion was put to light by Prophet Olaniyi Michael, a.k.a Celestial_revfather in an article titled, the sacredness of prayers and its blockages. In the article, the Prophet emphasized that prayers in the church are not blocked spiritual since they are directed to the throne of the father through the altar of mercy.

He however advised sidesmen who burn incense in the church that the altar should be the only place where incense is burnt during silent prayers.

"Incense burning should be done ONLY in the altar during silent prayers and as a result we get instant prayers. Prayers are answered during silent prayers, therefore don't turn silent prayers to a stage where the conductor begins to engage in revivals."
