Reverend SBJ Oshoffa

In the 70's members of Celestial Church in the United Kingdom were on the verge of suing the government at that time for what they term as unlawful detention of their Shepherd, Superior Matthew Aina and his wife.
In a video documentary filmed by Celestial Weekly in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Celestial Church of Christ in United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the current Shepherd of Elephant and Castle Parish, Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist J.O Shebioba gave the reason why members decided to institute a legal proceeding against the government of the United Kingdom.

Shebioba said members were angered by the detention of Superior Matthew Aina and his wife at the Gatwick Airport while they were returning from the Christmas Convocation, in Nigeria. He maintained that this made the church to consider the option of going to court, but were stopped by the founder of the church, Reverend Pastor SBJ Oshoffa.

Shebioba quoted Oshoffa as saying "I did not send you there to cause problem and wahala for me (and the church)." He said members have to respect the decision of the Pastor, but in the video he however did not narrate how the matter was settled.
