The admin of the church’s most conservative group on Facebook, Àlàgbà Michael Fọlọrunsọ has advised choir members of the church to desist from bringing the affiliation of popular trend of being a Marlian to the church.

“Please don't sing "TESUMOLE" by Naira Marley in the church , let your Marlian affiliation end in your room.” Fọlọrunsọ wrote in an open letter to choir members in the church.

He argued that for those who are knowledgeable about the hymn of the church and the scriptures, will understand that it is clearly impossible to match on the devil. He said, “for those who have wisdom, our hymn and the scriptures do not support that song. You cannot march on the devil, God only gave us grace to march on his messengers (witches and wizards).

“Don't call Satan to a fight you cannot finish, Michael is the one who is meant to face him in battle by rebuking him. Only Jesus Christ has the power to match on the devil and the appointed time will come for all to see.”
