A youth who stole a phone, cash from Itunu Parish during a vigil, bags one year in prison

A Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State has sentenced a young man of 21 years to serve one year in prison for stealing from Itunu Parish, in the Ilawo area of Abeokuta.

The Daily Post reports that the young man, Afolabi Samuel who pleaded guilty, had stolen a smart Techno Phone worth N76,000 and cash worth N52,000 from the Church during a vigil.

The Police prosecutor in charge of the case told the Magistrate Mr. D.S. Ogongo that, on February 24th Afolabi burgled and entered the Church through the window, then stole the phone and cash.

While delivering his judgment, the Magistrate declared that the pieces of evidence before the is court compelling enough, therefore he sentenced Afolabi to one-year imprisonment without an option of a fine.
