The Cross is a significant symbol used in Celestial Church of Christ, as it is used in preventing people from entering the Church auditorium during prayers and sermons, the white altar cloth also has 3 crosses, there is cross in the inner altar, children of the members wear a metallic cross on the neck, as some may be tied to their hands and legs. Adult members who had gone for anointment have crosses on the loins and may also wear them on their necks.

What exactly makes the cross so significant to Celestial Church of Christ? Former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor S.O Odeyemi says the cross stands as a covenant between Christ and the Church.

"We should recall that Oshoffa narrated the covenant which Jesus made with him. The centre of that covenant was the cross. For this reason, the cross is the centre of life and worship for the Celestial Church of Christ."

Odeyemi who is the founding coordinator of the Church's Youth Organisation asserted that "To me as a Christian, the cross reminds me that Jesus dies on the cross for me. He suffered for me... The cross is the centre of Christian life... Moreover, when I hang the symbol of Jesus crucified on me, satan is bound to run away when it comes into contact with me.

"The witches, the wizards, satanic forces and stubborn spiritual powers in heavenly places cannot stand in the presence of the cross because they know that the cross was the key God used to save mankind and to reduce satan into a mere puppet. The cross is the power of Jesus Christ as Christ is the power of God."
