Shepherds and pastors transfering parishes to their sons
A shepherd facing the altar

Hanibireh Myke has given reasons while landlord shepherds will prefer to transfer their parishes to their sons, rather than to the faction of the headquarters they are loyal to. Aside, from shepherds personally doing so, families of shepherds are automatically placing their first sons to become the head of a parish immediately after the demise of their fathers.

Hanibireh mentioned 2 reasons, why the children of landlord shepherds are taking over the parishes established by their fathers.

Firstly, he mentioned members of the Church should not expect a shepherd who made use of personal limited resources to grow a parish without the help of the headquarters, to hand over the parish to the headquarter that was not helpful to them.

Hanibireh observed that "poor people (shepherds) who struggle to build the church without a single assistance from headquarter, you now condemned their actions, by handover d church to their son(s).

He said the actions of the shepherds cannot be condemned because they are taking a cue from what is obtained from the top hierarchy of the Church. He noted that "but if we are talking of landlord shepherd, just look at it, from the top, those who claimed to be Oshofa family, are now inheriting the church as their personal properties...though Papa Oshofa did not handover celestial to his family, and Papa never mention...that celestial church is a family properties, but look at d things nowadays."

Secondly, he added that selfish interest and the fact that anyone can become a clergy because their parents are one is also a contributing factor to why shepherds are handing over to their sons.

"These people (children of shepherds) are not going out to go and starting their works of evangelism right from grassroots, u will just see them with full regalia dey done become a shepherd. Are you telling me all these people have a divine call.

"It is only God can forgive these so call the board of trustees, and MPIC cos am very sure most of them are regretting their action now, cos of their self-interest, personal gain, look at where we find ourselves today now." Hanibireh Myke wrote in a Facebook comment.
